Ok set it up torqued and with the old bearings it was sloppy. Now it's not reading any end play but it spins freely it's not binding at all. Does my gauge suck or do I need to try to shim it even though it's moving freely.

It's back together. Seems perfect to me, no slop no drag.

That looks right but the jims tool is 7/8" thick and it looks like the one you have there is 3/4".

For $15 you can buy a few of these before you get to the Jim's price. I'll try it on he rear and let you know but I have some other issues to sort out first before I get to the rear wheel
