This ride was different because it looked like half the bikes there were EVOs. There were two 1985 models there. One guy bought his new in 1985 and is still riding it. He just had his engine and transmission rebuilt. He said that a car cut him off, he got mad, passed it wide-azz-open and the motor started knocking. It spun a bearing. So, he took it to his indie guy and the bike was out a whole year. When he got it back there was a "noise" in the transmission so, he took it back and that was rebuilt. He says that now with the new engine and transmission he will ride this old 85 model till they bury him.

You have to admit that it's pretty cool to have a motorcycle that will literally last a lifetime (with a few repairs along the way).

That applies to anything that you are willing to spend the money to fix.

Yep! I look at my leaky primary chain inspection cover, all the money I spent on the rebuild, and think man! I sure do miss my kawasaki's! It never fails though... Every time I fire the old girl up and listen to that beautiful music I don't miss them at all.
