Adjust and make sure the throttle cables are free and not sticking, check that the "push" cable isn't sticking on the cable end holder on the carb and that the spring is in position.
Sometimes in the holder and sometimes hanging-up on the outside.
Ok I am suppose to get a 0 right. This is what I get running ohms meter to terminals with a hose to voes
Can any of the experts weigh in on my ohm reading here? My first quick test I just watched the meter bounce and assumed good. When I went back to check to see if it was holding vacuum is when I realized it doesn't go to zero resistance like I believe it should. I think I need to replace it, but would like a second opinion before I go buy one, they aren't cheap. I did a lot of searching and the only reference I can find is on page 479 of Donny's Unauthorized Guide, he says to replace at any reading over 1 and I'm at 10.3 if I'm reading it correctly.
If the meter is correct, it's showing extra resistance in the switch, should read zero.
Meter is correct it zeros when connected to itself. Would this cause intermittent functions like I described? I'm confused because I read the switch either fails or works nothing about it partially working.
VOES shot. I took it off and if I tap it the ohm reading will go anywhere from .8 to 19.0 and anywhere on between. Question I have is that one side of the diaphram smells like gas and it was damp. How would that happen, shouldn't it be completely dry? Only thing I can think of is the previous owner had severely flooded the carb at some point. I checked the line to the petcock it's dry no gas in it.
I split it apart to see If there was any contacts to clean if anyone wanted to see whats inside the voes switch
So the new VOES isn't going to be in until next week. Is there any harm in plugging the tube and running without it or should I just leave it parked until it comes in?
I was checking the vacuum on the petcock today to make sure I didn't have a leak into the vac line or a air leak it held for 30 seconds assume that's good? New VOES will be here today finally. I noticed this which I didn't notice when I was pulling it apart. Would a petcock rebuild kit come with a new back piece or would the dealer just clean this up? I assume now that it did leak at one time which in turn went to the voes and messed it up which is why there's gas in it but to me it looks like it was recently rebuilt.
New VOES in. What a difference. Starts first try and stays running with just the enricher on when cold. I didn't know it was suppose to start this easily!
