There are two brackets that mount near the top of the heads that also bolt onto the back of the AC assembly. My rear one broke and I'm wondering what the proper name of this bracket is and is it crucial? It seems to be pretty solid still but...? Oh yeah, it's on a '90 EVO w/42mm Screaming Eagle Mikuni.
Thanks
If you have brackets something like this,
the carb and A/C assembly will bounce up and down until the brackets eventually crack and break off, especially if you add one of those heavy a/c inserts.
This type of bracket is more rigid and won't break.
the bracket you have holding the back of the air filter to the cylinder head has broken is my guess
yes you need it - and i am sure they are available from mikuni
what we do is to go to Lowes and they sell strap steel in one foot lengths it is a bit thicker so it will be stronger - bend the step drill the holes - make two of them and than paint silver or black install and forget it -- jz

Can anyone tell me the part # of the bracket in the top pic? I can not locate it in the schematics.
