Default 1986 fxrc

I posted this on the general forum, but wanted to get some advice here as well. Im looking at a 1986 FXRC with just over 21,000 miles. What are some of the things I should be looking for since this is a thirty year old bike. I have heard by 1986, the Evo was pretty solid. What questions should I ask the dealer about it? It is a great looking bike. If you go to rodneyscyclehouse.com,you can see pics.

Thanks
ride safe and have fun

Just check to see if the base gaskets are leaking...at those miles and in that condition I wouldn't worry, that is a sweet ride!

Looks like it has an S&S carby which is way better than the Keihin butterfly it came with from new.

Looks reasonably close to stock. Don't hang around thinking about it for too long or you'll find someone has sneaked in behind you!

While the price is a little high, it looks like a nice unmolested original and to me that's always worth more than one that has been "customized". 21 K miles isn't even broke in good yet. My 87 FXLR had 189,000 miles on it when I traded it in( dumbest thing I ever did) and still ran strong. Never had one single problem with that bike

I reckon there are a few ex-FXR owners think the same way.

Yep, traded her in on a brand new 2004 ElectraGlide Standard. Stupid, stupid, stupid....whenever I get another bike to keep my other two EVO's company, it's either going to be an FXLR or an FXRT.

That bike looks good!....Just change all fluids and filters and ride the pants off it (never trust a dealer or seller if they say its already been done).
