Doing a reassembly of a rebuilt evo motor and am not able to get a grip on the lifter block bolt heads with the 12 point sockets i have used to remove them .? Purchased new Harley lifter block bolts and same problem ?
Tried grinding a socket down a bit to get to good teeth but it didnt help .??
I know these 12 point sockets are hard to find and believe the two i had were seldom used . Dont get this ?
Has anyone out there had the same problem as its holding up the show here.
Any help is appreciated.
i had one that was that way i was able to get an end wrench in there and break it loose, after a couple turns the socket was able to grab and pull it out. went back in the same way, pain though because i had to take 1/8'" turns for awhile.

I didn't know they were hard to find.
I see them all the time at Sears.
I don't understand the fuss with 12 point sockets... I have 6 point, and 12 point, short socket, and deep socket, for 1/4, 3/8ths, and 1/2" drive... ALL sizes, metric and SAE. None of it was hard to find.
I did replace my lifter block bolts with colony chrome allenhead bolts... about the only chrome I actually ADDED to my bike, since they weren't a cover and actually look nice.
Sometimes these bolts suck, replace with stainless allen bolts.
Think i wiil do this as trying to find a 1/4 drive, 12 point socket in Canada has been a big bitch. and i dont know why ? Its like we where living in New Zealand or something .??
