yea its my first post and i am on the tech forum but i am having a problem.
i have changed the cam to an andrews v-23, added reinhart true duals and had the intake ports on the heads cleaned up, not hogged out. i did all this with the intentions of putting a mild power tuner on it. guess i should of done my homework first. i can't find a power tuner for this yr injected that has a brand name to it.
the bike had sat for 3yrs in climate controlled space and when i got it out it ran like crap, high revs at idle, stalling and running rich on re-start. i have had it for 18yrs with no real issues and figured i would beef it up a bit for the giggle factor. after cleaning the whole fuel system and doing the mods it still runs like crap and i can't find an mild upgrade for the tuner.
what do ya's figger. any help appreciated. rick

Ok I don't knowing about efi but first
Welcome you will get all the info you need here.
Second going to need some more info what hear bike.
What I've heard about efi is finding a tuner is hard. But someone will chime in soon. Oh also post a pic of your ride we love pics here
What year/model bike do you have?
Is it the stock EFI system?

I have a 1996 FLHTCUI, and to use the Power Commander, I had to have a 97/98 ECM, and it works good.

Since you have had the intake manifold off to clean up the ports i would go with D gyvers excellent advise to check for intake gasket leaks first thing.
There are many efi mod. kits available but you need to get the motor running right before you get into all that.
Question ... you state you have " cleaned up intake ports and valves " .?
What did you do in regards to the valves ?
If you are not fond of the efi, there are several efi to carb conversion threads. The majority were quite happy with conversion. Welcome btw. Pics??
yea i read a bunch of them threads but i really don't want to change up a whole bunch of the originality of the bike. firstly do to the fact my passed wife bought it for me 18yrs ago and i want to keep it original as much as possible and secondly its a numbered bike. as for it being numbered i don't really know if or what it has any bearing on but they only made them once kinda thing. i play with old muscle cars and in that world some numbers do have a significance. some #'s more than others obviously.
if i can't get it working proper i will probably convert it back to stock original specs and just ride it. i am just trying to give the bagger a little shot to wake it up a bit.
thanks for the lead though. rick
