I have CFR knockoffs ordered and shipped the same day. I have run about 5k on them I have a defatted header and no tune. Runs fine some popping on hard decell. I am getting ready to do intake then I am going to tune it. Most people say and I am one of them, just mufflers no tune necessary. ECM can compensate
Supply and demand on CFR's. We have a few sets in stock ready to go. I have never been a knock off guy myself. I like the real thing which is why I bought a Harley in the first place.

Hogpro, I understand completely what you're saying. I paid good money for my "authentic" Rinehart mufflers. To be honest, they sound similar to stock.
I just want to feel that good authentic roar, which is why if I choose to get a new muffler, I prefer the real deal.
I'm hoping, that I can sell my used Rinehart mufflers to cover the cost of CFR's. Right now, I just want to do mufflers. Down the line, when I get more knowledge, I may do the full pipe.
If ya'll don't mind taking a look, here's a youtube link which shows the sound I ultimately want to get. But correct me if I'm wrong, the way to get that sound is the CFR muffler AND Vance & Hines Headers, correct? (You can skip to 3:02 in the video).
I've been running a set of cfrs for a couple seasons now. I really like them, they are not the muffler to have if your chasing torque numbers on a dyno sheet but I haven't heard anything else out there that I feel sounds better than my bike with cfrs imo. The CFRs with my rush premium duals sound angry like thunder. A X style pipe like the VH power duals is not the best sounding imo. Before my powervision I had ran my cfrs with a set of vieds and a stock decatted header. I had no issues at all and no decel pop. If it were me I would atleast get a set of vieds to riches it up a hair to avoid blueing the cfrs.
Just as an FYI, in speaking with the designer of the CFR pipes, he claims you should still tune even if you're just adding his slipons on stock headers.

I have been running the cfr slip-ons for a year now and haven't had any problems. They say get a tune so your pipes wont blue up. but I haven't had any blueing. I think they say that for warranty purposes. the pipes start sounding better as you put more miles on them.

Glad to hear that.. The reason you state was Cary Faas' exact reason for tuning... I guess it may depend on the individual bike as well.
