Default Curious about bassani radial sweepers

So I'm going to be picking up my 2015 street bob in a couple weeks and I'm still indecisive on the exhaust I want. At first I wanted the bassani RR 2-1 but I can't make myself like them. I love the radial sweepers though, the sound and the look. My only question is will I lose a lot of bottom end? Surely not as bad as V&H short shots? Plus there stepped header pipes which should help. Anybody have any expirience with the sweepers?

No direct experience with the Bassani Radial Sweepers, but I am a big fan of their Pro Street 2>2. The problem with pipes like the Radial Sweepers is the short and unequal length headpipes. Ideal length of a big twin headpipe is around 44", and these don't get close. Strictly "looks pipes". Would not expect them to generate horsepower/torque much better than the lackluster V&H 2>2 (also "looks" pipes), except the stepped design of the Bassani will help power some.

If you thoroughly examine the Bassani website, their performance pipes say something like, "increased horsepower and torque" in the description and the "looks" pipes don't. This is not an oversight or a marketing ploy. Bassani is serious about performance and honest about which of their pipes are for serious power and which are not.

Look at the Pro Street pipes if you want a 2>2 and are concerned about performance. I think that the "pro street" look is pretty killer too and the sound is beyond reproach, as long as you like LOUD. Otherwise, go with a quality 2>1 pipe like the D&D Fatcat, but stay clear of the 2>2 "looks" pipes if you value performance.

It all really depends on where you want your power band (rpm range) 2-1's work good in mid to upper rpm range where a good staggered dual will keep your torque in the low to mid range better..

Default I have the sweepers on my 2014 fxdb

Not really sure how they compare to V&H 2-2s but I love my sweepers. IMO they look badass and sound badass. I have stage 1 that is untuned for now(waiting on my FP3 to arrive in the mail) but have still taken the bike out just to get a good feel for the sound and performance before the tune. I didnt notice any difference in low end coming from stock headers with straight shot slip ons and SE AC. The butt dyno is happy. Also the pipes and shields are very well built, they feel heavy and the metal is thick. No more pipes tinking when they are hot and you shut down.
I've been waiting for over a week for my FP3 to arrive so whenever it gets here and I flash the ecm I will be able to let you know more about the performance.
Hope this helps somewhat.

Looks like they may not work with passenger pegs if that is important to you.

They will work with passenger pegs just fine. Earlier model dynas have the issue with pegs. Im not sure exactly what year that issue ceased to be a problem but they will work for 2015 fxdb.

I too am looking at the radials. Does anyone know what year the passenger pegs changes i saw on revzilla a reviewer said he had 02 dyna and pegs were fine. Mine is a 99. I am having trouble deciding what exhaust to get but i really was thinking about these as they would fit a new bike if thats the route i decided to go next summer.
