At idle,I can twist the throttle back and the idle goes down ,although there is a little play in the throttle ,could it still be too tight ?? About 1/8th " slack.

If you can twist it back and lower the idle, it's not set up properly. The grip should establish the base travel, then you adjust the cables from there.

I have adjusted cable and now operates smoother.The cable was too tight .The base of the cable was so tight ,the collar was up and somewhat out of the bracket cable holder on the carb.Make sense as far as terminology goes ??
