Breather Service

What's involved in servicing the SE breather on my '99 ultra, how often and do I clean it or change it?

Follow the K&N instructions, if you have them if not, use the cleaner let it sit rinse out with warm water, then spray the oil on it ( all K&N products only) easy does it dont over oil it you should have a nice red coating but not too much

I'm really new at this. Are you saying that the Screamin' eagle breather is a K&N? Or are you saying I should change to one?

The stage 1 usually has a K&N except for when HD went to the blue banded one that is disposable. The red filter media is the K&N. The color comes from the oil that is used to treat it after cleaning it. This link will give you more info including cleaning and oiling info down at the bottom of the page.
