I recently bought a used 02 Heritage that came with Screaming Eagle slip on's. I want to put Vance & Hines Big Shots on it. I don't know what if any adjustments were made for the Screaming Eagles. It pops a bit when going down hill in lower gears but runs great. Will I need any expensive tweeking from my dealer? What will be involved if I do.
Thanks for any help, I'm new to this.

When you change the configuration of theengine you changed the air flow through that engine....this requires to alter the fuel to match the new air flow.

Thanks for that answer, but you just told me the only thing I already knew about it.
What I need to know is what's involved-in layman terms.
Also, what should I reasonably expect to py for this?

Well there are several ways to more fuel, some more expensive than others. What else are you planing to do with your biuld? if your only going with a pipe change a factory download might work for $150.00....but if it's not correct for the V&H pipe (and it won't be) it will still pop and even surge down low. If your looking for doing it right and tune the bike on the dyno a Power Commander IIIusb would be the cheapest, about $300.00 fortheunit and a good tune will be another $300.00....the Race Tuner is the better tool butby time your done with thisunit and tune your looking at $1000.. to do it correct. Now the hard part comes...finding some one near you that can use one of these tools to tune with on the Dyno.
Doc, one more question please. My bike is carberated and the people at V&H said I need new jets and a Stage 1 air system. I wonder if this hasn't been done when the previous owner put the Screaming Eagle mufflers on???

If you look at your airfilter (chrome cover that is) and you can see thefilter behind the cover then you have the air system already...if you have a black inner plastic cover and you can't see the filter then it's stock and it would be advised to change it to a SE kit or something equaly as good.
If your changing pipes and you have a high flow air system you will need to rejet your carb...again it needs to go on a dyno to see how much fuel you need .This will cost you around $100 tops...jets and dyno time.
well didnt say if fi or carb either way if more air goes out more will come in need more fuel.if carb then just step up jet lil bit if fuel injected then might need to get an experanced person to help.
