I have a quote from a shop for an engine build. Realizing that they need to make a profit on parts mark-up and labor, does this sound like a fair price for this set-up? This sounds like a good build to me but I don't want to pay more than it's worth either.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not sure whose lifters, that's a question I can ask. Also, I will ask about the pushrods too. The quote does state quick install pushrod kit and provides a part number.
I don't think much of the HD 1550 conversion. They use cast pistons in it. When I had mine done, I bought the jugs and FORGED pistons. While you are at it.. why not diamond cut the jugs and heads before the build? It will add about another $500 to the cost... but no better time to do it.

Hi ultraultra,
The 1550 conversion in this build is only the cylinders. It will be using forged, domed Branch pistons. That diamond cut does look great but I don't think I want to spend the cash on that. For $500 I would get new rear shocks - which is a sometime down the road thing right now.
