The stock intake, as-is, will be A-OK with either the HSR or CV carb. I would hold off on any maching on that.
One of the keys to Dougs results is port velocity and that intake is part of his equasion. Doug may tell ya different, but I would NOT go hacking on it until I had his blessing!
btw - I think I wanna ride that puppy when it's done!
I'm considering Dougs work on my FLHT 95" this winter. Would this level of power be too much for the stock drive belt? I don't really want to move to chain drive. How about clutching? Upgraded Barnett plates and springs anough, or a full up aftermarket clutch in order?

My current HQ 98" build makes 113/111 and the bike is an 05, so it has the thinner belt than the 03 & older bikes. No belt issues on mine & it's been know to float the front wheel from time to time. As clutches go, I used a S/E heavy spring + a VPC and that seems to be fine for this build. I am expecting to have to do a bit more for the clutch on my upcoming HQ 113 build.... but I dunno exactly what I'm gonna do yet.

Well, when ya figure it out, let me know. I thought about the SE spring and VPC, thinking that should handle our "Godzilla" builds. As long as the engine is out and apart, might as well do what is gonna work best.
CC - you are gonna need a rider's backrest to keep ya from sliding off when ya twist the wick! Sounds like you are in the same boat as the rest of us northerners, put the bike away, do the build, then have to wait to ride, cruel and unusual punishment I say.
Very cruel indeed Dalton, very cruel indeed.
Sorry for my ignorance here fellows. I was planning
on getting the screaming eagle spring for my clutch, but what
does VPC stand for?
