Fiddle: I agree with Lake, Woods 5HG cams with a set of .030 cometic mls gaskets would be a perfect setup for your ride. Bob Wood designed the TW-5HG specifically for the SE heads. They are made to match up perfectly with the valvesprings. You will have a wide fun powerband with that head/cam combo.

S&S 510G, and a good DYNO tune. This way, no more $$$ spent on valvesprings, etc.

these other guys are giving advice without thinking about YOUR pocketbook.[&:]

do it this way, and don't look back.

"I'm runnin' 510G's and lovin' them!"

I'm running the S&S 510G cams also.
They are a very good cam to run on a stock 88" or a Big Bore with 10:5.1 compression.
My 97" pulls two up very good at a low RPM all the way up to 4800 RPM.
I used the S&S 510G with the Stock 88" and stock heads, and I still use it with the 97" 10:5.1 compression, with basiley head job. It runs very strong, all low end arm pulling TQ from idel to 4800RPM 97HP & 104TQ. Very fun to ride.

Well I made my selection and i am going with TW5G cam, and a SERT work a deal with dealer got it all for a killer price. Talk to Bob Woods himself great person a wealth of information, and he built that Cam for the bolt on SE heads. He believes we will put numbers up over 100 and still maintain reliablity we all need. Thanks to all of you who sent me there when I get the dyno I will post

I for one will be very interested in your results. As much as Iam from the old school S&S, shovelheads back in the 80's, I've heard nothing but great things about those wood grinds.

Got the results back from the dyno, not as good as I hope they would be, 90 hp with 99 tq on the TW5G cam power jumps in at 1500 and pull to 5000. waiting to test drive tomorrow. This is up from 83 hp with 90 tq but it was all on the top end 3500 to 7000 (257 SE cam). I beleive it will be a great cruiser but would have like to see the number up another 10%.

I may have fuel and air breathing problem need more, to get the numbers to a 100, any sugestions?

Stock ignition, SERT, high compression, SE high performance Heads, stock FI, White Bro Eseriez with 12 disk.

well I need help The dealer who sold the bike to me could not get it right. and now has swapped the 1999 FLHTCUI 95 ci we have been discussing in the forum over the last 3 months for a 2004 FLHTCI police edition 88 ci. As I had gone through a learning curve with the 1999 bike So here I am in a 2004 what should I know about 2004 88 ci Twins Cams. What are the pro and cons of the year bike

this bike has SERT and Vance Hince duals with Big Ovals mufflers. How can I step up the 2004 to get some guts.

I did a search on dome top pistons and came up with a thread about engine upgrades and such. It was mostly about cams but you did mention something about dome top pistons. I have been getting conflicting information on dome top pistons vs flat top and machine work to increase compression ratio. The conflict deals with air flow. The dome top creating an obstrution in air flow. I think this was mainly dealing with the old hemi heads though. I am buying parts here and there to do a 95" build on my 05 Fatboy. I picked up the S&S 585G kit and have purchased the Wiesco 10.5:1 forged......dome top......pistons. The bike is fuel injected, I have the pc3 already, reinhart pipes and stage 1 air cleaner. Dyno numbers came in at 75hp and 85tq. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If you do any crusing I would stay away from 10.5 compression you will need compression releases and to add additives for your gas tank. My old bike had 95 in with 10.5 and SE heads with Woods 5g cam and I had to use gas additives and it made alot of engine noise. dyno number where 98 hp and 103 tq. My understanding is that the new bath tub heads have better flow over the Hemi style heads and they work well with flat top pistons. Working on my 95 in mod for the new 2004 bike, plan to run 10 to 1 compression with stock heads ported and the wood 6hg cam.
