just had a set of 06 heads decked so I am at 9.5 to 1. one head cced at 88 the other at 89.Steve at GMR told me hetook .037 and .038 to get them to 83.2 cc's. I did not have any intake manifold fitment problems. The manifold fit perfect and I used a .030 cometic head gasket. I was told that you can deck at least .050 off and be fine with the manifold fitment.I guess if yougo much moreyou just have to shave a bit off themainifold with a belt sanderemery paper on a piece of glass.

Stay where you are until yo can afford the 95" big bore. You will enjoy the experience better if done this way.

Yes,head gaskets do crush on installation.Cometic makes a thinner set than the ones called for stock.Check cometic for part #`s.If using stock pushrods they will have to be changed.Toby

The 030 head gasket will ehlp you some, you can mill them as well but if you go to a 95 inch later you may have too much compression for the current cam you have. Now you could set the heads up for a 95 and use them on the 88. That would put you in the middle and they would be ready for the large engine. That would be your call. You could mill the heads use a .030 gasket now and then when you go to the 95 use a .035 gasket and you would be spot on at that point.
