Default RE: Engine "Overheat" Questions

I run synthetics in every engine I have. Amsoil or Mobile1. Even the lawn mowers. I'm just lazy enough sometime to go too far with oil change and I believe the syns. are needed for the heat. I just quit arguring with myself about this.

If you still dont think it happens, drain your coolant from your car / truck and go for a nice ride. Dont worry about the cooling, it's air cooled now.
That's just about the dumbest statement I have ever seen coming from a "Tech". Get your calculator out, and apply physics (if you know it) and add the proper amount of cooling fin surface to an engine and they will run fine. Do you actually beleive that HD and other companies haven't done that and made these engines to run within EPA specs at 14.7 to 1 AF ratio? So again I ask, you said these engines are a problem in your area of the desert. What's HD's numbers on heat releated failures for these engines (07 - 08) per thousand units? I beleieve like stated earlier. This is a CUSTOMER DISSATISFIER and nothing more. If there were high engine failure rates the Dealers would have a Service Bulletin by now that would address any heat issue. HD would not have bikes going down left and right.

I am not interested in H-D's failure rate for these engines. We looked into the complaints of the high heat as a safety issue.
Owners were complaining that the heat was a major distraction from a safety standpoint while riding.
I stand by what I stated earlier, the 110ci kit (not factory) has had failures in this area relatedto the heat. The primary result on 4 of these was cracked pistons, 2 were warped cylinders, 8 were ring breaks, 3 were wrist pin seizures by lubrication failure.
Carbon residue in the oil was 60ppm to 78ppm, indicating overheating. The thread discussion was helping to reduce the exhaust heat felt by the rider. It's been tested by many and all state pretty much the same, it works for them and me.

Now that's about the funniest damn thing i've heard. Heat distraction while riding. Like I said in my first post. Nothing wrong with 07 08 bikes except the *****'s that are riding them these days. Heat, safety on a motorcycle! hahahahahahahaahaha!
