Engine Missing
Fired up the Springer today after about a 2 1/2 Month layoff (finally got a nice day for a ride.) The bike started up fine but the engine missed every so often during a one hour ride at a steady speed (not during acceleration or deceleration.) The bike'sa carb'd '06, stock, except for a Stage 1 upgrade. Is the missingtypical after a long layoff from riding?
Any info much appreciated,
Dave

I agree. Might be bad gas, but I would do a quick tune up. Check the plugs and wires. A lot of things can happen when a bike sits for a while. May have just missed you and is being a bit of a woman about it!!!

I was having the same problem. Mostly at lower speeds, 45 and under. Then about two months ago It started the whole time I was driving. I just "bought" it back from the shop. Replaced sparkplugs, wires, took carb off and cleaned, took MAP sensor out and cleaned. Now it only does it when you first take off and about 35 one time and not anymore. Mechanic says he doesn't have any idea what to do next. Have been using last three tanks of premium fuel from three different stations. Hope you find the answer to yours.
try un-pluging connectors at the ign. module. clean with contact cleaner, and reinstall. they can loose connection even though their snapped in. i think there was a tsb on this. only takes a few minutes.

. They are saving money on the fuel stabilizer additives.
