Working on installing a cv carb on a stock shovel head superglide, looking for ideas on a after market air cleaner, any body done this? <ay be a k&n part # ??? Thanks.
Yes. I made a press on flange to bolt the CV to the stock manifold. I used a twin cam plastic air box, stock filter and the chrome football cover. The airbox bolts to the cv pattern and I used two filter mounting adaptors from Drag Specialties that bolt to the bosses under the rocker box to support the airbox, then put bolts through the airbox head breather holes through the adaptors, used washers and nuts to tie it all together.
Another backing plate choice is a used Screaming Eagle plate with the cone filter and a round EVO cover. It will bolt on the same way.
I mounted a piece of flat aluminum to the rear head boss, that I had milled a 3/8" slot into it to mount the enrichner cable.
