I would think your bike spooled up so quickly because its making 135+/- ftlbs of tq
From my limited knowledge of dyno machines, I would think that in the process of an engine fighting against the forces of inertia to spin a drum. For a bike to "rev faster" than another bike it would have to put out more power. Basically, the time it takes the bike to "spool up" is directly related to how much hp/tq the bike makes. Plenty of dyno sheets out there to prove the R&R heads dont rev any faster than anyone elses, well maybe faster than the HD's
Ryan you are absoluty correct.. if those heads spooled up fast like the mytth says . the racesr at every track in the country would run the. as a matter of fact just the opposite is true ei went down to english town when all the guys in the tri state areas ran their bikes and i asked about 100 guys what type of heads are they running . i did not ask specifics such as chamber size valaes i just asked the name of the guy who does theirt heads and porting. no body guns those heads. S&S , Baisley G2 , Simons own porting. Hillside i knew these 2 guys run hillside because i had my hillside shirt on and they approached me. but the numbers dont lye. sorry, but if we can get some spool time facts maybe that will change peoples mind.
I used R&R for my bike, did a lot of checking around for the most reliable, consistant, and repeatable packages out there and decided on these guys. What really stands out is how quick they rev.
Scott does an excellent job reworking those R&R heads call him @ Hillside cycle
Many good ones on here and elsewhere. Spend time researching and calling first to decide which way to go with your build for your riding style. Anything over 100/100 I would address the crank and start at the bottom for piece of mind. I asked 117(or was that 118 people?) at a m/c swap meet and "run what ya brung" night and most of them mentioned some guy up in Prescott, Az. Just kidd'in SE! LMAO! Like I was saying- lots of good workmanship out there and lots of information here on the forums. Good luck.
look you know in this day and age people need some proof. steve shows his data no matter what it is. it is what it is, if you need gimmicks and useless slogans to sell parts they probley are not worth it.
If you are in a business where you sell your services or products you are always trying to sell your services or products from that business and if you are not then you shouldn't be in that business. If you are not, what would be the point of being in business? Not going to hi-jack this thread just saying everyone has his own opinions on builds and builders. Heard nothing but good things about HQ's, JD's, and, of course, there's no way you can beat Doc! Learned alot from all of them and respect their opinions along with Steve's. It looks like that build of yours SE would be a great ride.

yours is nice also . i am going to de-tune minee this yr and focus on handling and comfort. you know as well as i do how fast the money train takes off when these bikes get past a certin pt and right now i am at it. starting to get a lot of frame flex and twist due to the tighter and stiffer suspension.
softtails are not ment for this kind of tq.
Hello, I am ready to get my heads ported 2006 FLHX TC88, RB Racing 2 into 1, V&H Fuelpak, Screaming Eagle Air Cleaner with real K&N. Adding Andrews 26G gear driven cams with S&S gear drive, Feuling HP Plus lifters, Feuling Super Oil Pump, Feuling cam support plate.
I want a street porting job that matches my components and my riding is mostly 2 UP traveling fast. So I am after torque. I live in Sacramento and know there is BC Gerolamy, but they are very pricey, and don't fit in my strained build budget. Who is the G-Man? Sounds like someone who can get me what I am looking for. Need to know how to contact him. Thanks in advance. HarleyPartsGarage
