Hot air temp holdes less O2. Colder is more O2. Maybe on top of just a hot day you are running lean. That would agravate the whole thing.
The problem about the fuel is I'm thinking a blockage (filter)or asJOHNBD, above, a leak in the pressure side. As you ride for a peroid of time the pressure to the injectors gets lower and lower. Finally just can't maintain more that just what it is getting. Leaner and leaner as you keep the throdle open more and more. Bogging and hotter and hotter..
But this could look fine at the dealer, good pressure and flo, becauseittakestime to do this thing.

Just some thoughs about the fuel supply.
Or an exhause blockage.
Oh exhaust is ok. checked that. this seems to happen when it gets hot outside. I told the dyno guy about this problem and he said his map would take care of it. it didnt . when it gets hot outside or i run the bike pretty hard, it happens. I got to be using fuel cause it eats the fuel when it gets that way. The outside temp can fall and the bike will run good again.
did i mention i have those chrome fins on my forkes deflecting wind off of me ? Tjhey are like two inches and goes down the forks about 18 inches. WOULD THAT MAKE THE TEMP GO UP THAT MUCH ?
OK no ioil build up. The temp is ok. we just went and ran it hard. I believe its the cams. Its a 585 S&S cam and they dont kick in till 3100 rpm so on the highway im usually around 2700 to 3000 in sixth. I run around 70 75 to 85. if i get on it around 70 to 75 it feel boggy. I guess when the engine gets in the heat of the day its a little more boggier or something but im not impressed with either the cam or those screaming eagle heads. Something is not right. Strange how most builds from harley throws the usful power band over 3K when most of our riding is done below. Strange.
Have someone clean the heads up for you and throw a Woods TW-6 or a TW-5g in there. You will have all kinds of power off the bottom and you will really like the way it pulls.
Maybe that is it. Interesting. Because there seems, maybe, nothing wrongexcept for the package.
Thing about HD is they can only do either EPA OK, or all out Racing. Off Road as in racetrack. Except for a few cams Harley has you got to go aftermarket to really help things.
