Ok gentlemen I need a little help. I have the 88b motor in my springer classic. After it completely warms up and gets up to operating temperature i get a backfire through the intake, and yes it is fuel injected, it will happen when pulling away from lights and when switching gears, but not all the time. I have the se1 kit on both the intake and exhaust and it was done at the dealer.
If it is under warranty, I would take it back to the dealer and let him spend some of his money...if it wasn't remapped, I would take it back to the dealer and spend some of your money to get the remap.
Thanks for replying so soon pilot, supposedly it was remapped when this was done and I have brought it up with the service tech and he hasn't thought it to be a problem. But as I recall a fi engine shouldnt backfire. Thanks for the advice reassuring my instincts.

Az, how soon did the backfire through the Throttle/body start after the mods? It could be a vacuum leak as previously stated, that's easy to check, just spray WD 40 around the back of the throttle body and manifold with motor running and see if the idle rpm's increase, if they do, you have a leak.
