I am planning on adding bored cylinders and SE flat-top pistons to my top end. I am adding open air filter and Khrome Werks slip-ons with a 42mm mikuni carb. No head work and no cam replacement. I'm using used cylinders and pistons.
Here are my questions: I am assuming I need to use new rings? Also, will stock heads and cams be fine?
Stock heads and cams will be just fine. I'd check those used pistons and clys over real good. I'd also check the piston to wall clearance beacuse your going to have to hone those cyls and might find they fall to far on the fat side of the recomended clearance which would require you to bore it .005 over and install .005 over pistons.

After reading this article I decided not to hone the cylinders.:
If those pistons were used in the cylinders your putting, I may reuse them also!!!!
But if not rings are only about 35 bucks!!!
I just bought some from my dealer Im doing a build also!!!!!
Yes you need new rings, and the new rings that you get most likely will not be the same kind that were used in the article that you linked to. Let us know what you do and how it works out for you.
Going from 88"-95(94.3") is a lot like kissing your sister. No thrill at all.
Slip an Andrews 26 in there, and NOW your going to experience a huge gain.
Cheers,
Scott

Or a WOODS tw-6g and you will be grinning from ear to ear. TORQUE, TORQUE, TORQUE
OK. So I should do cams at the same time. I think that I can swing the $$$ for used cams on Ebay. I'm assuming that to do it with minimal pain (and tools) I should be looking at bolt in cams? Are any of the SE cams worth putting in?
TC88 heads have a small exhaust port & ex valve, (flow 10% less than an 80" Evo), I would address this, while doing the 95" big bore & cams...
You got something there !!!
Other wise it will run hotter than you may like. FWIW

STOCK HEADS !!! No issues at all, with over heating or high temp. since 95" build. WHAT MORE CAN I SAY, RELIABILITY AND DEPENDABILITY WERE MY MAIN ISSUES. My builder, who is very reputable. Said no need to touch stock valves, What better numbers do you want from a 95" build. Was more after tq than hp any way, by increasing valves might have got a few more hp. No big deal.
