I have an 04 Night Train. I'm finally getting around to the stage 1 kit and exhaust mod. I talked to a couple different dealers about what I have to do pipe-wise when I make the change. One dealer says they want to remove the baffels from my stock pipes (drill them I guess)when they do the stage 1, and that it will make the bike sound really mean and throaty. The other dealer says there is no way to make the stock pipes work and that I HAVE to buy new pipes or it will sound like crap. Obviously conflicting information. So which is right? Can stock pipes be drilled out? And if so how will it sound after?
The python dual staggers are a very good set of pipes. Good torque, h.p., and sound. Not too loud till you crank them up. They sound better than the SE 2's in my opinion.

Yes the stock muffler's can be drilled out, it will help on hp a little but not as much as the SEII's or a set of cycle shack's, and by the way the cycle shack's are cheaper., hope this help's
