Well for one you added a cam that would like a bit more compression that a Stated 9.1 use of a thinner gasket onthe head, or even the Forged Hich compression piston with that cam would have been a very nice match . As I really doubt that the stated compression is corect I would bet that the combustion chambers are on the large side. If you used a .030 head gasket to increase the compression you would "feel" more pull down low.
But to tune your current ride yes I thinkit is worth the money , as you "HAVE" a ridablilty issue now. The bike does not ride very well you stated that. SO take it have it tuned and post a dyno sheet .
It should be in
SAE
4THgr
RPM on the bottom
As well as you should have more than 8-13 runs for a complete tune, make sure you tell him you want to see the mid range crusie test( even if you dont know what they are that will make hime really do his job instead of tuning for WOT only.
In fact The 4th gr RO test is not really of any use execpt to show the peak numbers, you need to make sure the low end crusie test are done. TO ensure you AFR is correct in the lower rpm ramge where you ride most of the time.
A 8% increase on a dyno tune is normal from a untuned bike. This includes, tuning with Ign, Fuel, And baffles is required.
V & H Big Shots. Will V & H 2-1 Pro pipes make a big differnce?
The 2-1 Pro will make a difference. However, if you want to keep the true dual look, you could use the Staggered Big Shots (Power Chamber). They have a crossover pipe but, the covers retain the true dual look. Not quite as effective as a true 2-1 but, better than the standard Big Shots.
Ok, it is a given I need it tuned. Next question is this: I eventually will want to change pipes, likely to the 2-1. I can't afford to have it tuned and do the pipes at the same time. If I tune it now, then a few months down the road replace the pipes, do I need another DYNO, or can I just simply plug in the different pipes with the SERT? Thanks again.
