I recently replaced the mufflers on my 2006 RKC to V&H classic slip ons. The bike has a SE stage 1 hi flow aircleaner. The mufflers that I replaced were samsons (unknown part#). I do not have a fuel pak or power commander of any kind. I want to be sure that the air / fuel mixture settings are correct. Can I simply bring the bike into a HD service department and ask them to remap for the current set up? Is the HD ECM not compatible with the A/M mufflers? Are these power commanders / fuel pak a waste of cash? - Please help me understand.
I don't care if I am the fastest bike on the road and I have no intention of racing it any time soon. I simply want the bike to run properly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated in this regard - Thank you!

the TTS allows you to tune the Bike by down loading a pre-programmed map into the bikes computer.
The moco used to use this company the company used to call the tuner the SERT (Screamin Eagle Race tuner). Now the moco uses Screamin Eagle Super tuner.
the SERT and TTS are the same one is an up dated version of the other.

also the power commander is good also.
do a search on the SERT and you will find tons of reading also the tts marries its self to your ecm and cannot be used on any other bike.
The easiest thing to do is have your dealer re-map, which is just a complicated term for adjust, your stock chip. The problem, as I was told by my HD dealer is that it cannot be reset to stock. (maybee just BS to sell me a Power Commander. I did go with the power commander, but bought on-line for about $100 less than the HD dealer wanted. I am extremely pleased with it's performance. It can also be simply re tuned for further upgrades withyour internet connection and the provided USB cable. You can get it pre programmed for your bike, it just takes a couple extra days to ship. That's how I got mine, haven't needed to re-map yet, no further mods to the bike.

So if the computer can't be adjusted back to stock (sounds fishy to me as well). so what? I guess if I were planning on going back to stock then that would be a problem. It's kind of like once you take your first drink of cows milk well then you never go back to baby formula. (notice I used baby formula as the analogy and not breast milk).
I guess overall my biggest issue with all this is the costs associated with it all. The mufflers IMHO were a bit pricey and with all the fuel adjustment computers out there I'm looking at doubling what I just spent. For what? All I care is the air / fuel mixture is correct for my EFI system. If the bike was carbed it's a simple manual adjustment to get the right mixtures.
It seems to me that when it comes to the EFI systems on our HD's this is a perfect example of how computers are not necessarily the greatest thing. The costs are more, the difficulty level (for the layman) has increased. and the dealer has basically forced folks to bring their problems back to them which does what??? - Costs more money. OK - I'll stop ranting now.
I really appreciate all the input so far. I think based from what everyone has said so far is that I will make an appointment at a dealer and have them check and adjust if necessary the stock ecm unit. Sounds to me that this will probably be the least amount of money spent to accomplish what it is I am looking to acheive. It is too bad that these things are the way they are in regards to having to bring back to the dealer. Overall I love the EFI system vs carb. except when it comes to this that is.
How much $$$ am I looking at to have the sytem re-mapped?

The dealer will sell you a SERT for about 400+ bucks.
TTS Mastertune can be got for 425 bucks.
If you get a SERT you will exhaust the usefullness in about 1 year. Plus the dealer will charge you, unless you learn how to to do yourself, about 75-100 per session unless it is a dyno session @ 150 hour.
The TTS Mastertune does it all. You buy it and you use it all you want. You just have to learn how it works. Not that hard.
Many many people on here have used the Power Commander from FuelMoto. The Power Commander is made by Dynojet and FuelMoto is retail distributor for the Power Commander. The reason people use FuelMoto is for their customer service. You can talk to them on the phone and they will help you through any problems and you can tell them your current setup and they will ship your Power Commander to you with a preloaded map according to your exhaust and air cleaner upgrade. Also, if you change anything you can contact them and they will send you an updated map.
The reason, of course, to do anything is because when you open up the intake and the exhaust you are allowing more air in and out and that means you need more fuel added to the mixture. The computer does not compensate for this by itself. Basically, you are taking a motor that is tuned lean from the factory (for EPA standards) and making it even leaner.
