Default S&S 124" Exhaust and Head work question

1. Anyone ran the new V&H 2-1 Hi-po Pro Pipe on a 124" motor?
2. If you were going to have the 89cc heads from a S&S 124" worked, who would you go to? The compression is 10.8:1 and the cams are S&S 640. I'm happy with both. Just looking at the heads.

We have used the pro pipe on a 117 with great results. I am looking forward to try noth the comp pipe and high out put on this same engine to see what it will produce. If you find someone that has please pm the info as I would love to see it.

As far as the engine goes we are just no completing a S&S 124 T/C engine for a customer. We did head work and swapped out the cam to a woods 9b. This is the second one we have done for a shop in AK. Head wise they respond very well and you will see great low-mid range gains with head work. Compression wise the 640 will take a bunch more. Fuel can be issue depending on where you live, heat etc.

Steve i think the pro pipe would be too small on a 124 ... on a 117 you could probley get away with it maybe depends on the valve size in the heads...

It could very well be too small. With testing though know one will know how it reacts to different pipes. I recall some time ago guys with 120's where pulling off borezillas and going back to standard fat cat with big bore baffle. With a 640 and that S&S compression it should work well to bring the low end up some. It most likely would cost you PEAK hp numbers but for a street rider might be worth it. I am looking forward to testing both the hi out put and comp pipe. The comp pipe is looks to be a drag style pipe. but will have to see how it turns out.

Thanks for the responses. I first saw the Hi-po at Daytona this year. The rep there said they were running one on a 124" motor as we spoke. Funny thing though, I have called V&H several times since then and was told no, they have not dyno'd the hi-po on a 124"...
The S&S Twincam 124" I'm running is a crate motor with S&S Single Bore Fuel Injection Throttle Body, S&S Closed Loop Sensors, and S&S VFI controller. The exhaust is Bub 7 true duals. Dyno showed 120 hp and 130 lbft torque. I know the true duals probably hurt the torque a bit. As far as tuning goes, I have about 5000 miles total on the bike, have had no heating issues and no pinging.

have seen the borzilla bring engines too life all over the rpm range also the fatt cat with the performance baffle. a lot has to do with compression , cam and valve size. the more squeeze ya put in the more ya want out.

From what I understand the the hi out put has a straight thru perf tube baffle (it will have a torque dip on some builds),has no heat shields so it can get quite hot and only comes in black. That info cam direct from V&H. Thats what we have dynos for. I will try it on the 117 and only re tune the 100 at first to see how it reacts on the smaller engine.

I did a Jim's 131 tune / TTS with true dual bassani fish tails 122 and 145. Impressive for a crate engine with a 58 SE FBW and poor exhaust.

In the end you have to really test several sets up see where the most can be had. However it is costly & time consuming. I am working on collecting pipes now for testing only. Will see how that goes for time.... he he never seems to be enough of it though.
