just completed 95 repair build, on a 05 FLHTCI.due to a oilpump misalinment, scroed everything in cam cheast, so might as well go bigbore "light" SE95 cylinders,SE flat tops,SE 203 cam.new SE billet cam plate, SE oilpump, SE aja pushrods, and lifters, stock heads, stock head gaskets and sert tune, V&H true duels. .003 T.I.R. on crankshaft pinion.Motor came in at 77hp with 88tq.cam comes on at around 2600rpm falls like a rock at 4000rpm,does this seem about right, with this combo.Planning to do a little work on the heads this winter,What can i expect and would it be worth head work with this setup.
With the R&R Cycle stage 2-1/2 cnc ported heads I like to use you can expect around 106-108 torque and horse with 95"'s. Stage 4 around 110 but much quicker reving, stage 5, 118- 120's T&H coming on 600-800 rpm's later than the stage 4's.

So what your saying randy is that just by going with R&R stg5 heads on his build he will pick up 40hp and 30ftlbs of tq?
You'd save on labor by waiting on the headwork until you can get a mid-lift cam to go with the porting. I had the Stage II setup you're describing for years and it did provide decent 2-up cruising torque out west. Until I changed the heads and added cams, 2-into-1, etc.
Thanks for the info.I have the SE 204 cam,not 203.not much diffrence,One thing that i was wondering about,is when i had the cam chest apart,The lifter pockets were machined for a higher cam lift.Buddy said he had not seen that before on a stock motor,I bought the bike new .Has anyone seen this before on a stock 88 motor from HD
it will revv quicker then stock but thats about it..... as far as cooling goes a properly tuned bike will run temps cooler then anything they produce peeriod.
