Have a new 2010 fxdwg and would like to know which cams would be appropriate for more low and mid-range uumpph? Don't really need more with the 6 speed for high end. I ride solo 99% of the time. You all know that need for speed! Power can get you out of as much trouble as it can get you into. Am going to go with adjustable push rods, probably SE and new rockers, again SE, Not really looking to do much head work, but if I have to OK . I would like to hear from those in the know. Anything better out there? This is my first F/I bike.
Thank you.
ok i have read posts from doc and others i beleive the ecm uses a beta tuning algerithum instead of a alpha. also it restricts the throttle by wire more .
best thing to do is a set of heads and cam get it tuned the motor will respond nicely.
a nice smoth t-man 525 cam and a set of heads with some work will really wake that motor up down low.
watch the se pushrods as there has beem issues also you will not need new rockers stock are fine.
i prefer baisley or t-man heads hillside will work also .
What you need for the 6 speed is a 30T pulley. The tall stock gearing is what is making your bike feel weak, it sure helped mine out a lot. Do a search on here about it and see all the happy customers. I cammed mine first and it helped a good bit but the regear really woke it up.
no mods in the future andrews 26 if you plan on other mods like a big bore then look to the andrews 37, 6-6, t man 525 ( I have not used this but others like it) or even the andrews 54 i would add the + 4 lower gear made by andrews less money than the other +4 sprocket and it does the same thing.
IF, and only IF, you would be upping the engine size, and or compression, then HMM .570 Express (Andrews is releasing that for availability after the 1st of the new year) would be a killer as long as the engine would see 10.3-10.7 cr.

Good suggestion. All Harleys are way over geared. I changed the crank sprocket on my Dyna from 25T to 21T to wake it up. That gives a 19% increase in torque at the rear wheel for just a few bucks. Unfortunately latest Harleys use a different design of crank sprocket and I don't know of any replacements being available yet. That is the best place to make gearing changes.
i had HILLSIDE re-do my heads on my 09 flhx.....made a world of difference. then you can do cams and pipes should you choose. You will need a tuner who knows what they are doing .
