Hey anyone out there done this? I have a 98 Ultra with an injected motor. It's had the "touring mufllers" from Kerker since new with the fish tail end caps. I was doing some much needed cleaning and pulled the mufflers off, pulled the end caps and then decided to pull the baffles out. It continued to snow ball...I removed the fiberglass packing from the muffler cans and reassembled with the baffles. Fired it up and SHAZAM !!! The classic V-Twin BLAT BLAT BLAT...
Question...What does that do to the fuel injection system? The days of re-jetting are over boys.
Can't help ya with your question, but man I'd love to hear the sound of those pipes now. Talk about snowballing from cleaning to complete pipe modifications.
Too funny on the jug cleaning line. My Dad gave me the scooter a couple of weeks ago and I don't think he ever pulled the bags or tour pack off to clean. It was a mess. Anyway.., If onlt I had the time and money baby. The things I could do....
12 Stones, you're right about at least the One Man every man needs ><>
If your getting some spittin' & sputterin' you'll probably wanna go in and get a remap, or one of the aftermarket tuners to allow adjustment of the injector pulse width. I'd go for a freer flowing air cleaner and definitely get a remap at a minimum.
Rode it this morning to work and she runs just fine. I've not noticed any drivability problems thus far. I am considering the Screaming Eagle Stage 1 kit and then the necessary recal. Any thoughts?
