Thanks for the info, whats the average price diff. between manual and auto.
Forget about the ACRs, install manuals and use them. The ACRs are just another electrical component that can malfunction. Look at cranking compression, not static and if CCR>190psi, install CRs. Actually, if you have the heads off, just install the CRs; they definitely will extend starter and battery life, if you use them.
yup, you were the one... It was specifically a discussion about woods cams. And you plugged the numbers into your super duper computer program, and told me a woods 6 running at 10.2 would be a ping monster, and that you dont build street motors with that kind of compression because people in your area would flip out. Then I told you I was running my woods 6 at 10.2:1 and had no problems with it. I never heard from you again. I believe you also got the smack down from Randy AND Scott about the woods cams... It was pretty comical actually.
same computer program as scott uses, once youve accomplished 1% of what we`ve done over the years, talk, till then shut the pie hole asswipe
This might be as close as you can get on the net. If you know ccp, cam, and all the other measurements you might be able to back in to the static compression ratio.
Who built a motor with that much pressure for street use (never mind no releases)? Sounds pretty high to me. I figured 190 was where I wanted to be and 200 as a max.
Damn the insults!!! I'd like to know if anyone has a conversion table for compression# to compression ratio???
My 96" S&S is displacing 230 psi & 232 psi. per cylinder. I have a hell of time turning it over at times. Otherwise smooth as silk, weird!
No compression releases, High torque starter.... At times a nasty kickback.
Thx
If you have a S&S 561 cam with a close of 40 degrees you have roughly 11.65 Static compression . You have to know the cam intake valve closing # to get close to your cr #'s , so this is a guess . If you have the 585v the numbers are different but not much 11.8 comp . But without a teardown this is a guess using 2 popular 96" S&S evo cams.
