I ride a lot of 2 up and am looking to get more omph out of my 2010 EGC with no engine mods other than Rush 1.5 slip ons. I am happy with the power when riding solo, however it seems to lack power when 2 up.
The dealer says do a big bore stage 2 and mentioned a download. He was pretty much speaking Chinese as I have extreme limited wrench knowledge. Can someone who understand wrenchese tell me if this will do what I want and a basic idea of what they are going to do?
To really get anything out of the slip-ons, you really need a free flowing air breather and an EFI tuner. The factory downloads are not worth the money, it will still run to lean which will rob power and run hot.
A free flow air filter is good but you need a header pipe also to get rid of the cat. With a good tuner, exhaust, header pipe and air flow you can get at least 10 HP and that is a big boost from where its at now.
