Just in case you did not realize, I am a PAYING sponser here.
I pay HD Forums, monthly, as other sponsors also do, to be here, and to interject, and yes in fact, make very sound, solid reccomendations based on our multiple decades of building, and yes, will continue to freely make mention of what, how, and why, we do, just what we do here.
I'm not sure where you want to go with this avenue of discussion, but sir,
I am not going to entertain this any longer, as you demeanor is unwarranted.
Hope you have a better day, tommorrow.
Scott, you missed the whole point, you asked a direct question, you got a direct answer. He asked a direct question of you but you can't answer directly back. What don't you get. I always have a great day and am blessed everyday! Waste of time explaining it so you can grasp the meaning. Like I said, direct question asked and all ya get back is pure rhetoric. My ole granny used to say, "buster, if ya can't stand the heat, don't be in the kitchen". Hope you have a great day Scott. And when I say I am out'ta here, bank on it.
...........and my grandfather, who was a NYS Magistrate for over 46 years, once said "that even a fish wouldn't get caught, if he kept his mouth shut".
Hard to believe this thread ran 5 pages as the OP had only 2 very short posts. It's impossible to give advice on engine mods (not that I would be the one giving it) unless the OP gives info on how much they want to spend and whether or not they're willing to tackle any of the work. To the newbie who may read this thread, when Scott at Hillside says to call him for advice he means it, no strings attached. He's been extremely helpful to many members on here without making a dime. I can attest to that having finished a cam and 95" build recently. Hillside cc'd and decked my heads for a VERY reasonable price and I was able to keep the build under my very limited budget and come out great thanks to Scott's willingness to answer some phone calls and give professional advice to a fellow rider who doesn't wrench on bikes for a living.
There is a company now producing a replacement shoe(shoe only) for the old style followers that is claimed to last 7 times that of the original, that could mean 30,000 or 100,000 miles in that case I guess. Very affordable I might add.
Does anyone else know about the new tensioners? Where they can be purchased, part number...? If the tensioners do last longer, and are a harder material, then that would create more wear on the chains? Just a thought...
I emailed BVBOB a few days ago asking about them but have not heard back from him. Dont think he is on here very often.
Looks like this thread has lots its course so thought I'd contribute to the derailing.

You are not gonna get many supporters on this one. Not sure why you descided to keep pounding your opnion either.
Scott is a supported of this site with his time and $$$. He has helped countless riders on this site, including me. I did not use his shop either as I did the work myself, but his help was priceless. He is very well respected around these parts.
I also see you do not have alot of business knowledge. Scott will not quote prices any of his customers paid. That is HIS business decision. If another poster or business does - that is THEIR business. Not yours. Not mine. I personaly would not want anyone I do business with giving out this information w/o my prior approval. But that's just me.

Disagree, I think Scott is way out of line to ask for a price like that and not be willing to do the same. He should have never asked that question if he wasn't willing to give his.
That being doesn't take away from his knowledge but I definitely agree with the posters comments and he has every right to post them b/c of what was posted by Scott
