Default torque cones

I have a 07 night train and getting ready to buy a set of streetwalker pipes. they have no baffles in them. I am welding in a kit so that I can put O2 on them. I am wanting to know I I should get torque cones while I do this. I dont want to lose all my low end torque and hp. I will then be Having my bike dyno tuned after instal with the race tuner. Any help would be valued.

I doubt that torque cones work. They are in the wrong end of the pipe to do any good. You would be better off using a baffle of some type in the other end. I made lollipop baffles for a set of pipes on one of my bikes. They are crudely "tuneable." My butt dyno tells me they make a difference.

Here's a good read on how to make drag pipes work...

they work...i've used em several times on several pipes...they work...mechs wanna tell you they are just a band aid, but most of them arent capable of tuning low end back into the bike....torque cones work, end of story

I'd love to see some before and after dyno charts to show me that they work. Anybody got any?

They worked for me when I ran no baffles with the Rinehart true duals. No before and after dyno to show just the seat of the pants power for sure. They also helped get rid of the bad dip in the curv that the Rineharts are known for.

Torque cones work on drag exhaust by helping prevent reversion, the cones help prevent the exhaust gases from re-entering the chamber at low rpm's during the over lap period of the cam, (when the intake and exhaust valves are open at the same time). It dilutes the air/fuel mixture and you lose power at low end. When the rpm's are higher, then the exhaust is moving through at higher velocity and besides preventing reversion, it is evacuating the chamber better, helping bring in the fresh charge of air/fuel. That is why drag pipes have the rep for only being good at high rpm's and losing power at low rpm's.
