If when installing adjustable pushrods... if i know im on the base circle of the cam lobe, why cant i adjust them there? Ive read over and over about making sure its at TDC on the compression stroke!!! Why? If its on the base circle why cant i adjust it there????Help me understand!!! I'll confirm that the piston is up but how do i confirm its on the compression side?
Im ready to start my cam install but just need some questions cleared up so my( simple) mind
can understand....

Im ready for the heat from some of you to fire off about (get the manual) I have one, but would like someone to explain the TDC base circle thing..

I can't answer your 'why?' question, but on compression the followers will be somewhere on the base circle with the valves closed, but on the other tdc the valves in the same cylinder will be partly open, assuming cam timing is correct!

I've never done it so I may be off but aren't both valves closed on the compression stroke so you could adjust both lifters? Exhaust stroke would have exhaust valve open I think .....sounds good to me anyway

No need to be at TDC, just ensure you are on the base of the cam lobe for each pushrod you adjust.
