Default 2011 FXDC slip ons

OK Experts, let me know. I am trying to get some slip ons for my 2011 Super glide because stock just don't cut it. I need something thats loud enough that I can hear what the engine is doing when I'm riding. I have looked at several slip ons, and was wondering, can i put on the cycle shack slip ons on without any re tuning, mapping, or anything else? I talked to the guys at the harley shop and they said I would have to re map and tune the bike and all of that stuff to keep from running too lean. I really dont have the money (as you can see I'm looking at cycle shacks) but I need that sound back. Please help me out so I don't waste any money.

PS
If someone has these already, let me know how they sound, I'm trying to get to where my buddy is with his 04 softail with ground pounders. I know I probably won't come close without a total exhaust, but at least ill be able to hear it while I'm riding.

My first set of slip ons were V&H and never like the sound in spite of trying several kinds of baffles. Then a buddy told me to get the CS. Love the sound, the price, the finish on them. If that's all you're doing you shouldn't need a remap, although it will still be running on the lean side as it did with the stock pipes. You might want to consider one of the XIED's, they are not expensive, easy to install and many owners have reported good performance results.

Default Thanks

Appreciate the tips, I am kinda new at this, whats an XIED, and what does it do. Also, thanks for the comparison because I was in the middle of comparing the VH and CS pipes and almost went with the VH.

It stands for inline enrichment device and it's an inexpensive way to richen the fuel mixture in certain areas. There's lots of posts on them, do a search.

I had the dealer put my old mufflers (Samson Ovals) from the bike I traded on my '11 Ultra Limited. I decided not to do any mods, till the storage months.
I rode all season with no re-map or tuner and the bike rode just fine.

Have V&H on 2011 super glide custom for 1000 miles and no other mods and it runs just fine. Fells stronger and sounds good even @ 70 mph. Some slight popping at times but i am old school and like the sound.

I'm running Cycle Shack tapered slip ons on my 2010 FXDC and ran them for a short time with out tuning. The decell popping was quite annoying and I was concerned about the heat so I ended up with the SERT. The Cycle Shack slip ons are very good quality and fit as well as stock with better apperance. They have quite a bark and the baffles are non removable but make good power. With a tuner, slip ons and open air cleaner you'll pick up 10-12 more hp and tq.

Billyram, sorry to disagree but those baffles will come out. In fact, they look to be the same baffles that the old Screamin Eagle cans came with, just without the packing. The story is that those SE were made by Cycle Shack. A buddy of mine runs a 107 with Cycle Shacks that he pulled the baffles from. No decel pop or anything like it, but it's tuned with a TMax.
Those baffles are said to make tuning the motor much easier. They work a hell of a lot better than the V&H that I had on before.

Right on, thanks everyone, I decided to order the CS and see ohw it goes without a tune. My bike already seems to be running a little hot, but I guess thats just because I'm used to a sportster which is what I had before. Im gonna look into the XIED too, thanks for the tip.

Some Cycle Shack mufflers have removable baffles but mine are spot welded in. I tuned out the decell pop also but mine are a bit too loud. I'm probley going to end up with a 2 into 1.
