Default Oil pump good?

I am questioning if i should reuse my original oil pump or go new. Inspection of pump passes with exception of some evidence metal has slightly gouged the body bore where the feed gears ride. The seal and gaskets will be replaced. TO USE or REPLACE. That is the question
Any suggestions???????

Reused the original pump with 25000 miles when I had a95" build on my '06 Raod Glide.I did not see the inside of the pump but the builder said it was good.
I ran it another 30000 miles with no issues.

Can you post a pic?

Post some pics. It doesn't take much metal "gouging" to damage an oil pump or cam plate. Without seeing the damage, I would say replace. How does the cam plate look? Why did you tear it down in the first place?

Above are the photos. Engine was torn down because of scored cylinder walls. I was not able to determine if the cause was lack of lubrication, lack of maintanance, overheating from head leak. Appears as some metal as passed through the oil pump feed gears. What do you think replace or reuse. Can I buy just the body from HD?

Replace it. You should figure out where the metal came from that damaged the pump. I would also send a sample of the oil to Blackstone or another oil testing company and see if there is metal travelng in the oil.

Thanks Guys I will take your advice. Now just to wait for the bottom end to return. I am okay with the cam, lifters, upper end, but I don't have the tools or experience with the bottom end so thats at the dealer. Apparently cost wise no difference from a indy. Already flushed the oil tank and filter mount. Thankya again.
