Default Fuel Crossover

I need to remove the fuel tank for my 103" conversion project, and was just trying to line up all of the bits and pieces I am going to need. For reinstalling the tank, I was wondering what most of you guys use - either new clamps using the HD-97087-65B clamp crimping tool, or the H-D braided stainless hose kit.

Another option I thought of - who is the manufacturer of the H-D tool? Perhaps I can buy the tool directly from them. I know Kent Moore makes a lot of their tools.

I've been using the braided crossover, but I'm going back to a plain rubber hose so I can install the quick disconnect. Tired of spilling gas every time I pull the gas tank. I'll use regular hose clamps.

Quick disconnect makes tank removal a piece of cake. I use the black pinch clamps since they won't be coming off very often; can't see them so looks like no clamp. Herko (John Wadsworth) used to sell a nice quick disconnect fitting; don't know if he still sells them or not.

JustGasTanks.com sell Motion Pro fittings; they have a black one. McMaster Carr has the same fittings but they are white.

JiffyTite makes a variety of high quality quick disconnect fittings; a bit pricey but very high quality and, I think, would be compatible with braided lines. The Jiffy Tite fittings might even allow a quick disconnect setup on a softail.

Can't buy direct from JiffyTite; they have distributors.

Thanks djl. I think I've got it - with the quick disconnect, you have two lines that attach semi-permanently to the two tank halves, and their will be a single quick disconnect in the center. I had not thought of that; my original thinking was one continuous piece of hose and then an easier disconnect at the ends. I'll check out your recommendations.
