Been reading everything on here about cams and found some really great advice. Picked out my cams based on the way I ride, decided to go the adjustable pushrod route and not break the top end apart, all the planets are lining up and everything is coming together getting ready for the install and then...
I read where Dawg says "on the other hand if you go through the rocker boxes you can drill out the rocker supports for better oil return and you can better align the valvetrain to reduce noise in the top end". Better oil flow, reduced noise, Dawg says do it...sound like this might be the straw that sends me through the top re-using the stock pushrods.
Brings up several questions like...
1) exactly where do the rocker supports get drilled out?
2) drilled out to what size?
3) how many have done this and did you consider it worthwhile?
The oil return holes are under the breathers. Drill with a 1/8" drill bit and then create a counter sink with a larger bit. Have done it many times; can't say that it makes a big difference but it can't hurt.
