engine light comes on
I have a year 2000 FXDWG just under 10,000 mi
Lately the engine light comes on when I start her up.
It goes right out, I ride up to the store about 2.5 mi
shut her down do a little shopping start her up again same thing engine light.
I don't notice anything different other than that. bike runs great.
It's been cold so haven't taken her very far to see if it happenes
every time I start her.
Oh and it is a carbureted model.

It is telling you that it has a "Historic Code".....
Something happenned recently and the ECM sensed it was wrong.....
You can either clear it out after the 50 Start/Run cycles or take it to an HD shop to have it cleared....
The Electrical Diagnostics Manual is a GREAT reference for instances like this, to find out what happenned, and how to repair or prevent in the future....
