I have a WL engine I want to use for a custom application. There are a few used frames for shovelhead engines that are configured the way I am wanting to build. Will my WL fit?
Not without a bunch a fabrication work. One of the companies makes a frame that will accept a WL motor and 4 speed motor. They also sell the primary to connect them. Good luck.
that is a 50 MPH engine combo in any frame - sell it for 2 / 2500 and buy a shovel WAY cheaper idea
Words of wisdom! People forget how crippled those engines are by current traffic standards. They were fine for Meter Maids in their day but slugs even then.
Just sayin', my 45 which is well sorted, will play in modern traffic all day, 65 MPH on the highway is possible, but 55 MPH is more pleasant. Back roads for days. Now stopping is a very different conversation. Don't be knocking the 45's!!!!!!

YOU had to KNOW the Meter Maid thing is going to stick to you BY going after that
Thanks, but I should have said a swing arm shovel head frame for a WL motor I guess, is there a company out there that makes that frame? Since I posted this question here I have seen it done on a super glide bike format,we'll say, and it was for sale on a shovelhead trader facebook page.It did not look right at all in my opinion. It would have been a stock Harley swing arm frame I guess. So the name of that company that I asked about would be Harley Davidson it would seem like.
Swing arm, yes now you are talking custom. Can be done, buddy of mine has a 45 Magnum in a Sportster/Duo Glide frame, super trick but not for everyone. I do not have a picture of it but it exists.
But that makes me want to ask, WHY? A properly setup pogo seat is as comfortable for any amount of riding on a 45, just sayin'.
