For some reason I dont seem to be posting thumbnails of pics I post.
I read / followed directions found in the How to Post Photos thread, and I can post photos just fine. Issue is they always post at full size, which is usually fine but occasionally get a bit large, and I would rather not have them be quite so pronounced for folks who are just skimming the thread, but leave the option to click if folks actually care.

When you go to post or reply, the new window that you type
your message in has a feature for managing photos. Scroll down
past the submit and preview buttons and look for "Manage Attachments,"
click the button and follow it through to attach thumbnails.
