Default Question: M8 vs 14'-16' Special

Question: is the M8 rear suspension the same as the Rushmore SGS/RGS rear suspension, but now offered on the standard (non-special) bikes as well? Or is it somehow different, and if so, how?

The new M8 suspension is supposed to be amazing, and I completely get it when compared to the standard touring bike with air ride suspension. But what about those of us who have a Rushmore "Special", like an SGS? That bike came with "Premium Ride Hand Adjustable Touring Shocks" which were nitrogen charged emulsion design.

I can't imagine the word amazing associated with any stock HD suspension!
