I know people like to put the air suspension from the touring models on their sportsters... my question is, if the air suspension fits fine, what about the "Premium Ride Hand-Adjustable Rear Shocks-54000008" that were in the touring CVO bikes and are now on the street glide special? Will they work aswell?
Might fit but probably wouldn't work well.those shocks are set up for one to be compression and the other to be rebound .thats why there is a **** on only one of the shocks.designed to work on the stiffer frames of the 09 and up touring models.I have been using them for a couple years on my flhx and like them a lot for the price on it

Most unlikely. The springs are likely to be too stiff and the damping set up for a heavier bike than a Sporty. However the latest 1200 touring Sporty has similar shocks on them which are worth looking into.

Yeah I read about that too. For the 2014 1200T's rear suspension, the MoCo says this:
Adjustable Rear Shocks
The new SuperLowŽ 1200T model has an all-new dial adjust emulsion shock and twin tube system. You can tune your suspension to match your riding style, or to accommodate full saddlebags and a passenger without removing the saddlebags or purchasing any special tools. Just dial in your ride and roll.
I wonder if these new rear shocks are compatible with older Sportster models.
