Default Grease and more grease

Just greased the steering head and the thing took almost a whole tube. Service manual doesn't say how many ozs, just until it comes out or the upper and lower head. Didn't see any at the top but it came out the bottom and the fork lock. Normal or not? I've read that in hot weather grease may seep out and leave spots on the fender or on the ground but I haven't seen that, maybe because it was so low.

Sounds normal to me. A little seepage is expected and is certainly more common during hot months. You should be good to go for a long time now.

It is possible that it never had grease to begin with......I mean highly possible.

Mine was the same way.The dealer did not grease the fitting during the 1K service.
I have not had any grease dripping.
Just wipe off what you can and ride!
