Default Steering Stem Install

Yesterday I removed my steering stem to remove the lower bearing and I forgot to mark where the half moon notch was located. Now I’m going to re-install. Does anyone have a picture of where the half moon notch is located? Or a way to figure out how to line it up correctly?

Dyna?

Moot point now, but why not remove bearing only? (assuming dyna or something similar)

The lower bearing was extremely rusted on and tried everything to get it off. Didn’t trust myself cutting it so I used my shop press to remove the stem.

Tell us what you are working on.

Are you working with a Factory Service Manual?

2002 FXDWG and yes I have a factory manual. I don’t see anything about where the notch for the steering lock should line up. Admittedly removing the stem might not have been the best idea but it is what it is now.

I'd call it an educated answer. Threw in a "?" just in case ... and waited for confirmation.

A notch in the stem is unique

Try this, one of the first I saw ... of course it's a narrowglide, but that doesn't matter for reference needed
