Default What is the best frame stabilizer?

Hello out there, how about some feedback and information in regard to the various types of 1997-2007 Touring model frame stabilizing devices like Tru-Tac, Sta-Bo and other similar things made to cure "Bagger Wobble" ? I am interested in adding something like this to my 2006 Street Glide. Thanks in advance!

Default Ground Clearance an issue?

One other question about these is do they affect or reduce ground clearance? I have a Street Glide and have had the frame scraped a couple of times already going across funky driveway/gutters. If one of these devices hangs down lower wouldn't it be worse in that regard? Thanks for responding and helping in advance

You're opening a can of worms with that question! There are at least a dozen different brands available now, so the choice is probably best done blindfold with a pin. I don't think you will be disappointed which you chose, as I haven't seen any bad comments or problems about any of them so far.

I have True-Track kits on both my Harleys and they are transformed. They ride tighter in a straight line, as well as handling better in bends, especially when fully loaded. I bought them before T-T started sponsoring HDF and recommend them.

Now wait for similar recommendations for every other brand out there! None of them are expensive and you really would be better buying first then telling us how you get on with it! Best of luck.

I am using Glide-Pro. Check it out. gets to the real problem. No external parts at all.

If I were you, I'd check out Progressive's Touring Link. It's way cheaper than most, and if it's as good as their fork springs and shock absorbers, it must work very well.

I'd suggest the Glide Pro Stabilizing System.

I highly recommend looking into this system. Not only for the rear but also the front motor mount. The company is a "Stand Up" company and will support what it sells. And they're working on improvements. I have the TRU TRACK myself and have no problems with ground clearance or anything else.

However, I look forward to switching over to the Glide Pro myself soon in the future and "No" I'm not a salesman for them...LOL....it's just good product and gets to the root of the problem(s).

It's true..."It's replacement parts" for the troubled swing arm area and the questionable parts Harley installs on touring models ex: RK, and Glides. These questionable parts from Harley attributes to rearward steer, wobble and tracking since these really don't keep the engine and transmission in alinement.

From what I understand and I admit I'm not an expert but they actually counter each other causing the handling problems, especially in the curves. Almost like when going into the curves, the front wants to go right, but the rear tire wants to go left. Almost like a each one twisting in seperate directions. Again, no expert here but it's the counter force of the transmission going one way and the engine wanting to go the other way. I stand corrected...whatever?

There's a ton of these "Frame Stabilizers" on the market now. And I think any of these will proably address rearward steer, wobble or track problems or whatever you want to call it? I concur that they will work just fine. However, I'd rather fix it at the source than add on just another bolt on product even as I did. But at the time that's all there was and again, "It Works".

I figure when I need to replace those "replacement parts" that's the direction I would go and attack the problem at the source.

For the same price as some of these "bolt on frame stablizers" and 45 minutes of free time why not? One last thing, proper over all alinement of the front and back is also a must and should be checked.

Again no expert here but when you ask about STA-BO (a insert) or TRU TRAC (a bolt on), or any other similar product it's the same thing and addressing the same conditon found with...Road Kings or E-Glides and thats rearward steer and wobble.

The Glide-Pro system appears to be nothing more than replacement parts for the swingarm pivot shaft, bushings and motor mounts. That would not appear to solve the inherent handling problems of the '93 to '08 touring bikes, even if they are superior parts.
