Default frame question

Got a 2000 custom bike that the guy i bought it from said it was a fatboy frame [softtail] and i want to install a new seat on it. I ordered the seat for a softtail but the front of the seat is not wide enough to go around the frame. Everything else matches up bolt holes ect. So my question is, is the fatboy frame different from the normal softtail frame. Any answers would be appreciated.

Chances are if it's a "custom" it is from the Evo years regardless of the year stamped on your title. What engine do you have?

So a direct bolt on would be HD years 84-99 softail....

Yep..That's my point.....It's an evo style frame...Most customs and builds are like that....

That's why the tab doesn't quite reach....

84-99 is what you most likely need....
