I put this brief review in the "Product Review" section of this forum, but it has occurred to me that it might not get too much attention there and I believe other folks running 5 3/4" headlights, especially in older bikes might want to see it so I'm putting it here as well. (I have no connection to Eagle Lights beyond that of a satisfied customer).
Just installed an Eagle Lights 5 3/4" Slimline LED headlight on my 1985 FXRS. https://www.eaglelights.com/products...dlight-buckets
They claim drop-in fit on ALL HD models with 5 3/4" bucket and that's exactly what I found. Total "plug and play" in my '85 once I moved the aftermarket flasher I have in my bucket out of the way. The OEM flasher wasn't available when mine needed to be replaced. The one I put in is significantly "taller" than OEM. The light is awesome. Dramatically improves daytime visibility as well. The company was "Same-day" responsive to my questions prior to the purchase. I received the new light in just a few days and found the install to be just as they said. HIGHLY recommend if you want to get a LOT better light on the road than any halogen I've tried over my 316,000 miles on this bike.
Hey Guido, This looks like a nice upgrade. I have an 85 FXRC and have been looking at which replacement would work. So basically uplug and remove old light and plug and play new light?

Winn...that's exactly what I found...Once I moved that aftermarket flasher I mentioned, out of the way. The darn thing is significantly "taller" than the OEM flasher. Works fine...so I went with it after I found the OEM flasher was not available when I needed one. There was one other small thing....Prior to installation I spliced the "red wire" on the unit into the yellow one ( also on the unit) as Eagle Lights mentioned, to get the light bar that runs across the center of the matrix to be a full-time DRL ( Daytime Running Light). One of the advantages I see with this LED is the improved Daytime visibility it provides over the Halogen it's replacing.
Is there a downside...??? I suppose that's a matter of opinion. In my opinion...it's kinda weird looking, not particularly "attractive" ...even kinda ugly. That said...you know what ?? When I'm riding..I CAN'T SEE IT..but I am LOVING the light I'm seeing, so there's that.
