The manual calls for 395cc of fork oil to refill the forks on my '07 FLSTN. Just how precise must one be? What could be the consequences of adding too much/little to one or both forks? FWIW, I've only done a fork oil change once in recent years, and that was not on this bike.

Is that 395cc dry or wet? You can add a little more or less to adjust the ride quality.

A little under or a little over won't hurt but you have to make sure you get the same amount in both forks.
your right about using 395cc or 13.4 ozs.... our 07 bikes (FLs) use the same amount.
When I had my INDY change out my fork oil 2 yrs ago they only put 11 1/2ozs (What the FX Softails use) back in and the front end was really soft and Clunked hard on rebounds...
I called him as soon as I got home after leaving his shop and told him what the bike was doing and asked how much they put in.. I took my manual so show him it should have had 13.4 added back.
He just added 2 ozs more to each side.... then all was well and fine....
